This is a good place to start getting acquainted and a site in progress so I hope you will check back often.
I am Margie Trammell, thank you for stopping in today. As you know I want to be your 3rd District Commissioner. In order to do a good job I need to know about you and your ideas. You also need to know something about me.
I have lived in Pike County since 1986 and have attended County Commission meetings on a fairly regular basis for over 20 years. I have been pro-active in Pike County by doing several things.
First I was active with the Pike County citizens group that fought to keep the hazardous waste facility from being built in Taylor County. That was a good fight to be part of and our efforts were not wasted.
I served Pike County as Secretary of the Pike County Land Use Planning Committee during the over two years it took to write that document, get it approved by the DCA and adopted by the Board of Commissioners. There was a great effort by that committee to find out what the citizens of Pike County wanted to see here in the future and I believe the adopted plan is a good plan.
After that I served on the Solid Waste Management Committee. That state approved and county adopted document serves as a basis and guide for waste disposal and provides insight to the value of recycle programs.
I then served as a member of the Pike County Planning Commission for three years and most recently was appointed to the Citizens Advisory Task Force where I am Chairperson of the Committee on Zoning and Ordinances.
My service to our county has been faithful and if you elect me to be your representative to the Board of Commissioners I will continue that faithful service to the best of my ability.
